Note: The tallow used is rendered tallow, which has been cleaned and purified for soapmaking, often using salt during the cleaning process to remove impurities. Melted tallow is used in the soapmaking process to ensure proper mixing with other oils and fats. For those who render their own fat, using own tallow is an option. Distilled water and sodium hydroxide are also used in the soapmaking process to ensure purity and proper saponification.
